moving on

I always thought the transition from high school to college would be harder than it is. Now, I cannot wait to get a fresh start. Over the past year, I have watched my friends slowly slip away, and I don't believe there's anything more painful than watching them laugh from across the room and not knowing how to go from there, or to watch them make new friends in your place. The reality is, unfortunately, many of these friends won't keep in contact with you after high school. That sounds crazy, as it's all you've ever known. It's hard to move on, but nevertheless I am excited. I still keep in close contact with several of my friends from my summer camp in NYC, and the people who make an effort like this to keep in contact, will be in your life forever. Don't waste your time feeling down about what used to be, be so very excited as for what is to come!
